Japanese food, exported to importers across Asia

Japanese food sells across Asia, but buying it well is harder than it looks from outside Japan. Many manufacturers do not take export enquiries from abroad directly, and a single supplier rarely covers the range a shop or a distributor needs. We buy everyday Japanese food in Japan, in Japanese, consolidate many products into one shipment, and export it to your company with the documents your import side needs.

Our customers are importers, wholesalers and distributors in Vietnam and elsewhere in Asia. You tell us the products or the categories you want — instant noodles and cup noodles, snacks and confectionery, seasonings and sauces, curry and other ready-to-cook products, tea, coffee and soft drinks — and we source them from suppliers in Japan, check how each product can be shipped, and put the order together.

A mixed order is where buying through us helps most. A shop or a distributor wants many lines in modest quantities; suppliers would rather sell one line by the pallet. We gather the lines from several suppliers in Japan, consolidate them, and send them as one shipment, so you can test a new range without committing to a container of a single product.

Shelf life matters more for exported food than for food sold in Japan, because the weeks spent in transit and in customs come out of the time your customers have to sell it. We confirm the best-before date of each lot before it is packed, and agree with you in advance the minimum remaining shelf life you will accept on arrival.

The import side is handled by the importer in your country, because that is the party the law makes responsible: product notification or registration, labels in the local language, and inspection on arrival. What we do is make that work easier, by supplying the information it depends on — ingredient lists, the specification, manufacturing and best-before dates, and the certificate of origin where a trade agreement applies.

What this includes

Everyday Japanese food, broadly

Instant noodles, snacks and confectionery, seasonings and sauces, ready-to-cook products, tea, coffee and soft drinks — the range Japanese supermarkets carry.

Bought in Japanese, in Japan

Japanese management places the enquiries and the orders with suppliers in Japan, in Japanese and on Japanese business terms.

Mixed shipments

Many products from several suppliers consolidated into one shipment, so a new range can be tested without a full load of one line.

Shelf life checked before packing

Best-before dates checked lot by lot, against the minimum remaining shelf life agreed with you before the order.

Documents for your import side

Ingredient lists, specifications and dates for your notification and labels, and the certificate of origin where a trade agreement applies.

How it works

  1. 01 Your product list The products or categories you want, your market, the quantities you have in mind and the shelf life you need on arrival.
  2. 02 Availability and documents We check which products can be sourced and exported, and what information each one comes with for your import side.
  3. 03 Quotation A quotation on the agreed Incoterm, with the products, quantities, packing and the documents that will travel with the goods.
  4. 04 Buying and consolidation We place the orders in Japan, check dates and condition on receipt, and consolidate the shipment.
  5. 05 Export and arrival Export customs, the shipping documents and the certificate of origin, and follow-up until the goods reach your company.

What we do — and the promises we keep

We put both in writing, so you know exactly what to expect from us.

We do

  • Source everyday Japanese food from suppliers in Japan, in Japanese
  • Consolidate products from several suppliers into one shipment
  • Check best-before dates against the shelf life you need on arrival
  • Supply the product information your notification, registration and labels depend on
  • Handle export customs, shipping documents and the certificate of origin

What we will not do

  • We do not act as the importer in your country, or file its notifications or registrations on your behalf
  • We do not quote a price, a minimum order or a lead time before we know the products and the quantities
  • We do not promise that a product can be imported into your country before its requirements have been checked
  • We do not represent ourselves as any manufacturer’s official distributor

Before you write to us

You do not need all of this to start a conversation — but the more of it you have, the faster we can give you a real answer instead of a range.

  • The products or categories you want — a list, photos or links are all fine
  • The country the goods are going to, and your company’s import licence or registration there
  • The quantity per product, and whether you want a mixed shipment
  • The minimum remaining shelf life you need when the goods arrive
  • Whether any product needs chilled or frozen transport
  • The Incoterm you want to buy on, and your forwarder if you already have one

Frequently asked questions

Which Japanese food products can you supply?

Everyday Japanese food in general: instant noodles and cup noodles, snacks and confectionery, seasonings and sauces, curry and other ready-to-cook products, tea, coffee and soft drinks. Send us your list and we tell you what can be sourced and exported.

Can we order many different products in small quantities?

Yes. Mixed orders are what we are set up for: we gather products from several suppliers in Japan and consolidate them into one shipment. The quantity that makes sense for each product depends on how it is packed, so we confirm it at quotation.

Who handles the import procedures in our country?

The importer in your country, because that is the party the law makes responsible for product notification or registration, local-language labels and inspection on arrival. We supply the product information that work depends on, so it does not stall for lack of an ingredient list or a date.

How much shelf life will the products have when they arrive?

We agree a minimum remaining shelf life with you before the order and check best-before dates lot by lot before packing. Transit and customs time come out of that shelf life, so the agreement is made with your route in mind.

Can you prepare a certificate of origin?

Yes, where a trade agreement between Japan and your country applies and the product meets its rules of origin. Japan has an agreement with ASEAN as a whole, bilateral agreements with Vietnam and several other ASEAN countries, CPTPP and RCEP; which one fits depends on the product and the destination.

Are you an official distributor for Japanese brands?

No. We are a trading company that buys from suppliers in Japan and exports. We do not represent ourselves as any manufacturer’s official distributor.

Import requirements for food differ by country and by product, and change over time. The importer in the destination country is responsible for them; we help with the information they depend on, and this page is not legal advice.
